Divers Pocket Real
Custom
Divers are proud to announce that they have augmented
their Reel Collection with the launch of a new
Pocket Reel. “Our Ratchet Reel has proved
to be very popular over the years” stated
Alex Vassallo, like its cousins, this reel benefits
from being designed to offer the diver both ratchet
and free run functions”. Divers told us
they needed a 50m line reel that could be used
when cold water diving that encompassed many tasks.
For example, as a jump reel, when deploying a
D-SMB or simply stashing as a backup.
As
the name suggests this is quite a dinky reel,
thus allowing diver to not only hold the reel
in one hand, but also lets them select the Free
Running Mode, simply by depressing the spring
actioned pawl with their finger. One the main
reasons the Ratchet has been so popular with divers
is that they can adjust the spool run to their
need or taste, whilst still enjoying snag free
line deployment. It was only natural therefore
that the Pocket Reel should benefits from these
features. When it comes to line, as with all our
reels, the Pocket comes with a 98kg breaking strain
2mm line in a choice of white, neon yellow or
pink line.
The
Pocket Reel is an ideal ‘divers first reel’.
We all know that a decent reel is a key component
of elementary diving equipment. Hence when we
designed the Pocket Reel we bore this in mind,
for we made it a Marmite Reel. As the divers experience
grows, the reels flexibility and capability continues
to support their diving needs, so they never grow
out of it.

Poseidon
BESEA
When designing their new BC range, Poseidon's
identified that there wasn't a product on the
market that addressed the importance of usability
and comfort levels at all stages of the dive.
This not only meant improving comfort in the water
but also on dry land when carrying your kit to
and from your dive. Poseidon solved this problem
in two ways; A unique fully adjustable back length
design called the Spineadjust system ™ was
incorporated, so from the biggest man to the smallest
women, unparalleled levels of comfort could be
achieved. This was combined with an ingenious
backplate called the Hydroback ™ system
consisting of soft and hard materials that displace
much of the weight of your tanks on to your hips
and not on your shoulders.
Stefan Jennefalk, Marketing Director, Poseidon
stated "As important as its underwater capabilities,
is how a BC performs on dry land. We considered
the dynamics of our new BC over the whole dive
experience. We utilized the best features of high
activity equipment for climbing and hiking in
our system to guarantee ease of use. With its
superb ergonomics we have redefined the definition
of BC to now mean 'buoyancy comfort' "

Lighting
The Way
Just launched by midlands based Divingniknaks
are three new models of canister torches to
compliment the Salvo range of lights that are
already highly respected by both cave and technical
divers alike. Utilising new ballast and bulb
technology whilst still retaining the Salvo
robustness and quality of design, the new range
of focus-able lights includes 18W and 24W lights
available in a variety of battery sizes to suit
people's different diving needs. The 9A 18W
features a five-hour burn time, and a higher
colour temperature bulb provides a stunning
blue white light from its 1300 lumens output.
The 9A 24W produces a truly staggering 1800
lumens of light output and is also available
in a twin head configuration utilising E/O cords
for underwater plug and detach, making it the
ultimate system for underwater video work.
Also recently launched is the new range of Twist
Focus and Fixed Focus lights ideal for divers
who prefer a smaller light head. The system
uses a 21w bulb and is available with a variety
of battery combinations to provide between 2
and 6 hours burn time.
The
lights are the first to be supplied with a one-year
warranty that now includes both the battery
and the bulb.
